In a world full of “nutritionists” and self-proclaimed wellness gurus, it can be hard to know who to trust. When it comes to credible, science-backed nutrition guidance, the gold standard is a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS).

Both credentials represent rigorous, advanced training in clinical nutrition and are recognized by medical professionals, licensing boards, and—in the case of RDs—insurance providers.

  • Registered Dietitians (RDs) complete an accredited bachelor’s and master’s-level education, a supervised dietetic internship, and must pass a national board exam. They are trained in medical nutrition therapy, research interpretation, and behavior change strategies to provide evidence-based care.
  • Certified Nutrition Specialists (CNSs) are also board-certified nutrition professionals who MUST hold an advanced degree (often master’s or doctorate level), complete at least 1,000 hours of supervised clinical experience, and pass a rigorous certification exam focused on functional and integrative nutrition science.

Unlike influencers, salespeople, or unregulated “nutrition coaches,” RDs and CNSs are licensed, credentialed, and held to the highest professional and ethical standards.

All sessions are held online via secure video call through our HIPAA-compliant platform, Healthie.

Through your Healthie account or app, you can:

  • Access chart notes, handouts, and personalized resources
  • Upload labs and other medical documents

At this time, we are a private-pay practice and do not accept insurance. However, we are happy to provide a superbill upon request that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.


The initial consultation (60–90 minutes) includes a comprehensive review of your medical history, lifestyle, nutrition habits, labs (required if you have them), and health goals. You will receive foundational recommendations to begin implementing right away. 


This depends on your health goals, current symptoms, and level of support needed. Most clients work with us for at least 3–6 months to see meaningful results. We recommend beginning with a package or committing to regular follow-ups. 


We currently offer virtual appointments via a secure HIPAA-compliant platform.  In-person appointments may be available if you have an established chart within the Cherokee Nation. We can see patients in the states that have passed the Dietitian Licensure Compact. Click here to see if your state has passed this compact. 


We can recommend nutrition-focused lab tests and professional-grade supplements. Labs are for insight into nutritional status only, not for diagnosing medical conditions. Diagnostic labs must be ordered by a licensed physician.


To respect everyone’s time and ensure availability for all clients, we kindly ask that you provide more than 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

✖️ Missed Appointments (No-Show)

  • If you miss your scheduled appointment without notice, you will forfeit 100% of the session fee.

⚠️ Late Cancellations (Less Than 24 Hours)

  • Cancellations or rescheduling made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee.

We understand that emergencies happen, but please review your calendar carefully before booking. Frequent last-minute changes disrupt the flow of care—for both you and others.

Kayla is a Certified Nutrition Specialist® and a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in Oklahoma and Arkansas, and practices in additional states through the Dietitian Licensure Compact.

She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Sonoran University of Health Sciences and completed her accredited dietetic internship through Iowa State University. Her academic foundation began with a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern State University, and she also holds certification as a Health Coach.

With over 9 years of formal education and a deep commitment to ongoing learning, Kayla brings both advanced clinical training and a passion for root-cause, whole-person care to every client she serves.

*RD is Registered Dietitian, a national accreditation. *LD stands for Licensed Dietitian, a credential governed by the Oklahoma and Arkansas State Board of Medical Licensure. We are certified to provide medical nutrition therapy.

🚩 Red Flags to Watch For:

  • Too good to be true?
    If a product or plan promises a quick fix, dramatic results, or overnight weight loss—be skeptical. Real health takes time and consistency.
  • Guaranteed “cures”
    Be cautious of any product or diet that claims to cure a wide range of diseases. No single food or supplement can replace comprehensive medical care.
  • Fear-based language
    Watch out for rigid claims like “never eat this” or labeling foods as strictly good or bad. Balanced nutrition allows for variety, flexibility, and moderation.
  • False or misleading advertising
    Don’t be fooled by front-of-package buzzwords like “natural,” “clean,” or “immune-boosting.” Always flip the package over and check the ingredient list and nutrition facts for the real story.
